Online monitoring of «AQUATEC» irrigation

To acquire professional and high-quality soil irrigation devices, there’s no need to turn to foreign manufacturers. The unique production of such technology exists in Ukraine. The company “AQUATEC” manufactures and sells professional devices – AQUAMETER soil moisture meters and BIONICA systems for monitoring crop irrigation. This business was founded by Oleksandr Pavelkivskyi, who, along with his team, has been developing it for 7 years.

The company has already implemented over 4000 devices and introduced more than 35 systems for monitoring irrigation in industrial plantations and crops. Thanks to “AQUATEC,” the irrigation regime of crops on an area of over 10,000 hectares of irrigated land has been optimized.

Due to the prolonged large-scale war waged by Russia against Ukraine, Oleksandr Pavelkivskyi lost a significant part of the sales market in the southern and eastern regions of the country. Previously, these regions had the largest irrigated areas for growing agricultural products. Now, these areas are either under military actions or temporarily occupied.

The change in the security situation is altering markets. Today, there is a growing interest in tensiometers and irrigation monitoring systems in those regions of Ukraine where the majority of agri-food enterprises are concentrated, cultivating vegetables, fruit and berry crops, cereals and legumes, medicinal and essential oil plants, decorative flowers, etc.

They are the main customers of the company.

“AQUATEC” is happy to continue assisting Ukrainian farmers, and the SEED 2.0 project has contributed to the brand’s development: “On SEED 2.0, I strengthened my entrepreneurship, leadership, and financial literacy skills. I received practical recommendations and advice from mentors and fellow entrepreneurs. I learned how to better present my business ideas to potential investors. I expanded my network of useful contacts and new acquaintances,” summarizes Oleksandr.

With the help of the grant, the entrepreneur plans to upgrade the BIONICA system with proprietary software. This will allow creating a full-fledged Ukrainian product from “AQUATEC,” providing agricultural enterprises with the ability to manage field, orchard, or greenhouse irrigation based on timely, accurate, and reliable information about the environment for growing crops. It will also help visualize data on the presence and availability of productive moisture in the soil, contributing to the development of more productive, modern, and profitable agri-food enterprises in Ukraine. Because only such businesses successfully integrate into the competitive Ukrainian and international markets.
