Real GDP in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the second quarter of 2018 grew by 4.6%, according to the Ukraine’s State Statistics Service.

Compared with the previous quarter, GDP also increased — by 1.6%. The performance was better than the National Bank of Ukraine forecast of 3% economic growth for 2019 Q2 and corresponds with government's forecast for 2019.
Context:
- The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank forecast GDP growth in Ukraine in 2019 at 2.7%.
- Last year, real GDP growth was 3.3% at the end of the year, the highest over the past 7 years. In 2017, GDP growth amounted to 2.5%.
