Kyiv Mayor and Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) Head Vitali Klitschko has met with Rudolf (Rudy ) Giuliani, ex-New York City Mayor and personal lawyer to U.S. President Donald Trump. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly been considering sacking Klitschko as KCSA Head.
" We discussed the situation in Ukraine, the prospects for further cooperation between the United States and Ukraine. And of course, we touched upon the importance of developing local self-government," Klitschko said on Facebook.
Klitschko said he hoped to meet again with Giuliani in Kyiv.
- The Presidential Office of Ukraine has discussed plans to replace Klitschko as KCSA Head. The issue would have been raised at today 's Cabinet meeting, but it was cancelled because Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has gone on vacation.
- Presidential Office of Ukraine Head Andriy Bohdan on July 30, 2019 said Klitschko does not control the city council. Bohdan said at a press conference that during meetings he personally asked Klitschko to give up the institution of "overseers " in the capital, and that Klitschko had admitted that he had to compromise with them because he had no control over the Kyiv city council. Klitschko posted a video clip in response, complaining about Bohdan 's incompetence.
